Our new 'Telephone First' appointment system will commence on 29th June 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the need to reduce footfall into the practice.
This is being offered to improve GP access and continuity of care.
Patients who would like a GP appointment, first speak with the GP in a telephone consultation. Those who need to be seen are invited in to be seen face to face by the GP. This improves access to your GP surgery improving continuity of care, and ensures that any patients with acute or urgent problems are seen in a timely fashion.
If you would like to speak to a GP, please telephone the practice and speak to our Medical Receptionist / Care Navigator who will ask you some questions about the reason for your appointment. This will help you receive the RIGHT CARE from the RIGHT PROFESSIONAL at the RIGHT TIME. If necessary, you will be booked in for a GP telephone call. The GP will then return your call and either deal with the issue over the phone or book you for a face to face appointment.
IF YOU ARE BEING BROUGHT TO THE SURGERY FOR A FACE TO FACE APPOINTMENT, PLEASE WEAR A MASK.
Please note, your telephone call will be returned on the same day (unless stated otherwise by the GP), before lunch time. It is extremely important that you keep your phone line clear so the GP can get through.
